Cavs Happy Hour - October 29
Held at the Sportsmen's Association Bowling Club which is on the property next door to Edith Cowan University in Mt Lawley.
We'll head over straight after fencing on Saturday around 4:45pm.
Under 18's are welcome but they won't be served alcohol.

CAVALIERS' ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
CAVALIERS' ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
SATURDAY 5th NOVEMBER 2011
(For newcomers - not to be confused with the Association AGM in December, which our club also supports)
The AGM will be held during the Cavs session from 3.30 to 4.30pm, and followed by a Sausage Sizzle.
The Committee will present annual reports, then all Committee positions will be thrown open for re-nomination for 2012.
All (and as many as possible) Cavs members are welcome to attend, including the younger members.
WE VALUE THE SUPPORT OF ALL OUR HARD WORKING COMMITTEE MEMBERS.
Please consider your availability for any of the following positions - non-fencing parents are welcome.

President:
v Position currently unfilled.
v Qualities of leadership in future club direction, communication and delegation.
v Responsible for liaison with ECU / WAFA / other authorities.
Vice President:
v Responsible for leadership duties in the absence of the President.
v Appointed to various duties as they arise eg subcommittees, grants, etc.
Secretary: (New job separated from Registrar)
v Heavy time commitment
v Able to take the position on for more than one year (for continuity)
v Attends all meetings as committee member
v Responsible for everything secretarial
v Essential to have frequent access to computer – word / excel
v Able to maintain frequent contact with committee members
v Able to attend as many club sessions as necessary on Saturdays and Wednesdays.
v Personal contact details held at DSR, ECU, City of Stirling, Yellow Pages.
v Maintain central contact phone and email for enquiries.
v Then hand over details to the Registrar at the point at which the person turns up at the club.
v Maintain contact list for committee and coaches.
v Organise meetings – quarterly – reminder – agenda – attend – Minutes – keep file – with President
v Organise all bookings for the ECU court
v Attend 2 x meetings per year for ECU clubs

v Newsletter quarterly
v Club Notice Board and advertising for social events, flyers.
v Cavs Email Notice Board
v Mail-outs – start of season, newsletters, notice of AGM
v Arranges ‘start of season’ and ‘end of season’ BBQ
v Organises bookings for other functions
v Maintain stock of stationery, do photocopying.
v Maintain table of Fees and other information sheets, calendars Cavs and WAFA
v Liaise with WAFA, ECU, Gym venue hire, DSR, City of Stirling
Registrar: (New job separated from Secretary)
v Heavy time commitment – preferably NOT a fencer!
v Able to take the position on for more than one year (for continuity)
v Attends all meetings as committee member
v Responsible for everything to do with memberships
v Essential to have frequent access to computer – word / excel
v Able to maintain frequent contact with committee members
v Able to attend club sessions on both Saturdays and Wednesdays.
v Maintains membership list in workbook and Excel file
v Looks after all aspects of membership, payments, lists and categories.
v Provides statistics when necessary
v Meets new / prospective members at the Club and provides the necessary information, flyers, etc.
v Follows up missed payments
v Records and follow up Part-Payments
v Writes receipts for all money received
v Forwards receipts and money to Treasurer, and arranges cheques for affiliations
v Maintains frequent contact with Treasurer and Secretary
v Organises all affiliations and registrations.
v (All members to be affiliated with WAFA, those who do not join are registered.)
v Maintains records of affiliations and registrations
v Enters all affiliations on the Sporting Pulse website
Treasurer:
v Requires a strong sense of responsibility in keeping records accurate and up-to date.
v It is a small club which is easily managed using MS Excel.
Coaching Coordinator:
v Responsible for coordination of all coaching programs within the club
v Responsible for the rostering of coaches and the standards practise.
v Responsible for overseeing the acquiring and updating of coaches accreditation
WAFA Representative:
v To attend monthly meetings at WAFA in addition to the Cavaliers’ meetings
v To act as spokesperson for the club at WAFA meetings
v To promote a good relationship between the Club and the Association
v To follow through with the issues which require attention
Equipment Officer and Club Armourer:
v Responsible for the care of all the Club Equipment
v Regular cleaning, tidying, maintenance, labelling, purchasing, repair, inventory.
v Supervise transfer of equipment to and from tournaments.
v A consistent and responsible job
Tournament Officer:
v Responsible for promotion of tournaments to club members, mainly those new members wishing to compete for the first time
v Advise newcomers of the procedure and facilitate the registration procedure.
v Liaise between WAFA Tournament Chairman and Cavaliers’ members for tournament procedure / timetable changes.
v Head the Cavaliers’ D T Team when Cavs hosts WAFA tournaments.
