End of 2011 at Cavs

END OF YEAR at CAVS
VICE PRESIDENT:
The position was not filled at the Cavs AGM. Since then Mike Middleton has been nominated to fill the role. This nomination was passed at the Committee meeting on 3rd December. Congratulations to Mike, who will now fill an important role in the club not only as Vice President, but also as a liaison with WAFA.
CLUB VOLUNTEER COACHES:
We are requesting that anyone interested in helping out with club coaching and/or training to become a coach, should let us know. Kylie is looking at drawing up a management plan for next year and needs to have a good idea of who is available.
DEVELOPMENT SQUAD:
A new group will be assembled next year which will follow a more concentrated level of training designed to prepare fencers for competition level and to return skills to the main club groups. There may be an extra cost involved with this, and announcements will be made in the early 2012 season when more is known.
WAFA AGM and AWARDS PRESENTATION SOCIAL EVENING:
I am very pleased with the result of ticket sales to Cavs fencers. About half of our members will attend! Thank you.
I will still take a few last minute sales if you wish to notify me by return email.
PLAN FOR THE LAST DAY OF FENCING:
Casual club fencing will be followed until 3.45pm.
THE COURTS MUST BE CLEARED and PISTES MUST BE SET UP for the Invitational Medley by 4pm, at which time the WAFA AGM will start.
I am hoping that some of you will assist Adrian to carry out this job.
You will then be hosts to visitors from other clubs.
Please - all Cavs members are eligible to stay for the meeting.
Please - all welcome to stay on for the Cadets performance of an Italian Relay for your entertainment between 5 - 6.30pm.
Juice and cheese platters will be available during this time.
The fencing must all be packed up and everyone out by 6.30pm.
THEN - those with tickets move over to the Bowling Club for the evenings events.
THANK YOU to all volunteers who have offered to help out for this event.

LAST DAY OF FENCING 2011 - Saturday 10th December.
FIRST DAY OF FENCING 2012 - Saturday 4th February
JANUARY - you will receive a newsletter and notices for the start of season.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone.
Gillian.

ECU Cavaliers AGM

ECU CAVALIER SCHOOL OF FENCING
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
5th November 2011
Thank you to all those who attended the AGM yesterday. We had a bigger crowd than usual.
We encourage our members of all ages to attend, as it doesn't hurt for even the very young to know what goes on.
We say goodbye and thank very much the following people who have relinquished their 2011 committee positions:
Maya Polanski - Vice President
Mike Middleton - Coaching Coordinator
Ian Walker - Equipment Officer / Club Armourer

We welcome and say a warm 'thank you' to the following people who will be taking on new committee positions in 2012:

Mal Davies - President
Mike Middleton - Vice President
Isobel Ellis - Registrar
Mike Middleton - joining Adrian Paxman as shared WAFA Representative
Kylie Caunt - Coaching Coordinator
Drew Foley - joining Ian Walker as shared Equipment Officer / Club Armourer
Dylan Devenish - joining Alex Boujos as shared Social Officer
Congratulations to the new committee who I am sure will serve Cavaliers well in the new year.
Sausage Sizzle:
We were 'washed out' for the sausage sizzle and made a quick, last-minute decision to meet at Mahmud's home where we could have shelter.
A good number of people attended for a very pleasant social time - a regular event after the AGM - and nice to see a couple of new faces there. Thank you to Mahmud and Lisa for hosting the event at the last moment.
