Cavaliers Notice Board - Start of fencing year 2015
Hi everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful break!
This is just a reminder that Cavs is starting up again for the year - whoo hoo! The start dates are as follows:
1. Fees:
Due to the increased costs of venue hire, we have had to increase our membership fees. This is the first fee increase that we have had for a few years, and we are still pretty cheap for a sporting club (it still works out as less than $10 a week!). For 2015, the fees will be:
Seniors (21 years and over): $370 for the year (with the option of paying in installments).
2. Development Squad:
In 2015, there will be a change to the way that the development squad will be run. The development squad will now be open to all members (at no extra fee) who want to be more competitive. The training will be just as gruelling as it has always been, but that's the way to get better.
Development squad will run from 1.00pm on Saturdays, starting on 7 February 2015. Please come and see one of us for more details.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing you all for another year!

Cavs noticeboard: summer fencing Jan 2015
Just wanted to confirm the details for the summer fencing sessions - Mal Davies is running sessions from 6.30pm to 9.30pm on Wednesday evenings in Januarybefore we start up the regular Cavs sessions again (ie, on 7, 14, 21 and 28 January 2015).
So there is no need to go through fencing withdrawal as you wait for the 31st of January, you can come and join us in the new year. The sessions are pay as you go, and the amount will depend on numbers (but should not be more than $10 a session).
Please let either Mal malcolm.davies@westnet.com.au or of the Jinny secretary@cavaliers.com.au know if you are interested
Remember that Dylan's fitness training is also starting up on 29 December!
Hope to see some of you over summer, otherwise Cavs is back to normal from Saturday, 31 January 2015.
Whatever your spiritual (or secular) persuasion, I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas / Hannukah / Solstice / Zarathosht Diso / December Eat-A-Thon / New Year festive season!
Kind regards,
ECU Cavalier School of Fencing

Notices and Holiday Activities
We have now finished fencing for the year :(
We will be starting training again in the new year from Saturday, 31 January 2015.
We will be starting training again in the new year from Saturday, 31 January 2015.
Well done to the Cavs who went to Canberra recently for nationals - Damian
Kneale won the bronze medal for veteran mens sabre, Ivy Park not only fenced the
open individual comp for women's foil but helped the WA women's sabre team out
as well, and Marissa Black, Dylan Devenish, Chris Barrett-Lennard and Jinny Skerman also
competed.
There are a few things going on during the break:
Dylan's fitness training
Dylan is running fitness training again twice a week during the break, starting on 29 December 2014 at 6pm, probably at Scarborough Beach.
We have been told that the training level has been set to "level: insanity" but also we tend to go out for burgers afterwards, so please come along!
Please email Dylan directly to express interest and to get more details: magna_blast@hotmail.com
Summer fencing sessions
Mal is planning to run summer fencing sessions again at Cavs in the new year but we are still clarifying the dates and times. These are usually one evening a week, and pay as you go (usually around $10 a session to cover venue hire).
We will let you know the details in due course, but in the meantime, please email the secretary secretary@cavaliers.com.au if you are interested so we can work out numbers.
We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
