FencingWA - Membership and competition entries‏

Dear fencers,

A few reminders over the next few weeks:
  • Remember to affiliate with FencingWA for 2013 (just $30) if you haven't already.  Just log in to portingPulse by following the payment prompt at http://www.fencingwa.org.au/.  This is important for insurance purposes, to gain access to a number of events including Activity Days, under 13, novice and veteran competitions, and to be recognised as part of our great sport!
  • If you wish to compete in any ranking competitions (under 15s through to opens) you must also capitate with the AFF.  This is also done via the payments section of the web page.  $40 for juniors (under 20s) and $60 for seniors.
  • The first of the competitions is coming up next weekend - 16-17 March - with Under 15 and Under 20 events in all weapons at Belmont (again check the timetable on the web page).  This will be followed by open events on the following weekend, so make sure you are affiliated and capitated!
  • The first Australian Fencing Circuit Open competition comes up on 6-7 April in Brisbane too, so entries should be in for that by this week.
  • For all entries please e-mail wafatournament@gmail.com.  Note that we are asking entries to be in by the Monday before any State comp and 4 weeks before any national competition this year please.
  • We are still keen to hear from any fencer under 17 years of age who would like to compete at a national level.  The National Cadet Championships happens in July and we are keen to send keen new fencers as well as our more experienced athletes.  Time is drawing close and the earlier you are able to commit the more organised we will be.  Again e-mail wafatournament@gmail.com  for information.
  • For any general inquiries or comments please feel free to e-mail me atwafaweb@yahoo.com  or call 0413 426 595.

Regards,
Ben Peden
