Dear Fencer / Parent / Coach,
This email is to advise of changes associated with athlete entry to events at the AFC3 tournament in Melbourne in late August. The new entry process has been prototyped and tested with AFC2 (Late Entries) and AFC Cadets / Under-15s (Late Entries and Overseas Entries). It was also used extensively for CFC in 2010, and is being used for AFT/AFS and Regional camp registrations.
Last Friday, registrations for fencers opened for AFC3 in the AFF Registration and Payment system (“ARPS”), and registrations have already started to be received for AFC3 using this system.
The main change to event entry is that you do not need to register through your State Association; registration is handled centrally by the AFF.
Some of the features of the new facility are:
* The ability to see a list at any time of all athletes currently registered for each event at the tournament;
* Minimal data entry to complete registration;
* A referral system to encourage fellow fencers to register (integrated to Facebook and email); and
* Cheaper entry than previously for those athletes who have entered an AFF event through a State Association that has traditionally charged or included an administration fee.
A news article has appeared on the main AFF web page providing information about AFC3 and ARPS, as well as new menu option under Competitions (Online Registration). All related AFF web pages (e.g. Fees & Charges, FAQs, etc.) have also been edited to reflect the changes described here, where relevant. All State Associations have been informed of the changes.
Please note that normal registration for AFC3 will close on 8 August; any registrations received after that will be considered “late”.
